Doc Lucky to be Inducted into The Athletic’s Hall of Fame

Doc Lucky Meisenheimer will be inducted into the Eastern Kentucky University’s Athletic’s Hall of Fame this Friday. The Hall of Fame’s mission is to commemorate and honor student-athletes, other individuals and teams whose accomplishments have contributed to the esteemed tradition of Colonel Athletics and whose character has reflected positively on the University.

Doc Lucky’s background as an impassioned athlete is impressive and worthy of this esteemed award. As a champion swimmer, he has set Masters World Records and won national titles.

An ASCA-certified, level 5 coach, Doc Lucky is the “Man-O-War Swim
Team” (a Special Olympics swim team) coach since 1993. He also serves as
the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the YMCA Aquatic Center, which
is a nationally-recognized, competitive aquatic complex.

His daily lake swims at his home on Lake Cane in Orlando have seized a cult-like following. Thousands of open water swimmers have joined him for his
morning swims since 1989.

Following after his induction into the Athletic’s Hall of Fame, Doc Lucky will appear at the LJS&S Publishing’s booth at the Miami Book Fair International November 18 – 20. Doc Lucky will be making presentations at the booth and will be signing copies of his three books: The Immune, The Zombie Cause Dictionary, and Lucky’s Collector’s Guide to 20th Century Yo-Yos.
