Critically-Acclaimed Science Fiction Author, Doc Lucky Meisenheimer, to raise over $20K+ for the YMCA Aquatic Center Scholarship Fund

ORLANDO, FL… Critically-acclaimed science fiction author, Chief of Dermatology for Orlando Regional Medical Center, world-renowned yo-yo historian, filmmaker, competitive swimmer, and philanthropist, Doc Lucky Meisenheimer, will be holding a book signing and book release party on Friday, May 13 at 6pm at the YMCA Aquatic Center on International Drive.

100% of the book sale profits for his novel, The Immune, will benefit the YMCA Aquatic Center Scholarship Fund.

Rowdy Gaines, a three-time Olympic Swimming Gold medalist and NBC Olympic swimming sports commentator will introduce Doc Lucky Meisenheimer. Many other local celebrities will be present, and the event will be covered by Orlando Magazine, Chart Magazine, and the Southwest Bulletin. All guests will enjoy a variety of action-packed activities and contests, food, music, free chair massage, entertainment, and over $4000+ of door prizes.

Doc Lucky Meisenheimer will be present the entire evening to sign copies of his science fiction thriller with political intrigue, The Immune for all guests who choose to support the YMCA Aquatic Center by purchasing his groundbreaking novel.

The newly remodeled YMCA Aquatic Center is one of the largest and most prestigious 50-meter indoor swimming facilities in the United States. It has been the training site for many of our country’s Olympic athletes and nationally-competitive teams since 1992. With three indoor pools, Central Florida’s only dive well, a retractable roof, and over one million gallons of water, this state-of-the-art facility is committed to swimming safely and with accessibility to a diversity of people.

The YMCA Aquatic and Family Center’s Scholarship Fund subsidizes pool time for the Orange County Special Olympics Swim Team (coached by Doc Lucky Meisenheimer), and swimming instruction programs for economically-disadvantaged children.

Every year the YMCA of Central Florida teaches aquatics and swim safety to 17,000+ children locally at 27 pools in a 6-county area. Currently serving 3.5 million a year, the YMCA of Central Florida is the nationally-recognized leader in water safety, health, wellness, early childhood development, kids’programs, and innovating effective community solutions.

Join us at May 13 at 6pm at the YMCA Aquatic Center on International Drive to celebrate and support this important fundraiser.
